Physiotherapy after a workplace injury in BC: the WorkSafeBC steps

Hurt at work in BC? Here are the steps to physiotherapy under a WorkSafeBC claim, and how to book it with us.

BreakThru Kinetics ·

1. Tell your employer

Report the injury to your employer.

2. Report it to WorkSafeBC

Report the injury to WorkSafeBC to start a claim, and note your claim number when you get it. WorkSafeBC's health care benefits page explains what it covers.

3. Tell the clinic it's a work injury

WorkSafeBC asks injured workers to tell their physiotherapy clinic that the injury is work-related, so the clinic bills your claim rather than you or your own plan.

4. Book your visit

At BreakThru, WorkSafeBC physio visits book through our front desk, not online. Call us at (236) 592-1459 and say it's a WorkSafeBC claim. If you don't have a claim number yet, call anyway and our front desk will tell you what we need.

Bring your claim number if you have it, your Personal Health Number and any reports or scans about the injury.

Getting back to work

When you're ready for a phased return to your job, our Gradual Return to Work program and active rehab are in the same clinic as your physio. More on WorkSafeBC physiotherapy at BreakThru.
