How ICBC covers chiropractic care after a crash
ICBC pre-approves 25 chiropractic visits in the first 12 weeks after your crash. You don't need a doctor's referral or ICBC's approval first. You need your ICBC claim number and your Personal Health Number.
The 12 weeks count from the date of the crash, not from your first visit.

Your first visit
Your first ICBC chiropractic visit is 40 minutes, one on one with a chiropractor. It starts with a conversation about what's going on and what you'd like help with. Follow-up ICBC visits are 15 minutes.
Bring your claim number, your Personal Health Number and any reports or scans you have, and come a few minutes early to fill in a short intake form.
Chiropractic care alongside other care
ICBC sets its pre-approved visits for each type of practitioner separately, so chiropractic care can sit alongside physiotherapy or massage therapy on the same claim. Our front desk can help you fit the visits together.
After the first 12 weeks

Do I need a referral?
No. ICBC says you don't need a referral from a family doctor or nurse practitioner, or approval from ICBC, for pre-approved treatment in the first 12 weeks. You need your claim number and your Personal Health Number.
How many chiropractic visits does ICBC pre-approve?
